The Civil Engineering department has been established in the year 2011. Civil Engineering touches the lives of everyone and has an intimate relationship with our natural environment. Civil engineers apply engineering principles to balance the society with technical and economic feasibility. In view of this the department emphasizes on sustainability within the built environment through green engineering in our teaching and research activities. The university curriculum is designed such that the student is competent to face the challenges of the 21st century and deliver practical outcomes to the society, engage in real issues having focus on research areas such as Structural Health Monitoring, Non-Destructive testing, Geopolymer Concrete, Self Healing Concrete, Reinforcement corrosion in RC structures etc. To achieve the same the main emphasis would be on project based learning with practical exposure through internship starting from first year onwards. The last semester of the course emphasis on project development and industry training so that student should know the environment of industry before joining their jobs.

Civil engineering is the conventional branch of study in the engineering field. The course includes the study of planning, designing and implementation of structural activities.
